Navy Federal Credit Union grows every year, and we have members from people with average monthly balances of maybe $100 to members with millions of dollars. Each one is important. NF just expanded their charter of membership to include all four branches of the DoD because there were constantly requested for this from Army and Air Force personnel who wanted to benefit from NF's brand of member service. NF hires as needed.
Navy Federal's only competition worth mentioning is USAA, who has good customer service and competetive products and services. NF constantly gets business from people coming from commercial banks who are sick of all of the fees and the apathy from bank employees because of the profit-driven environment. I won't mention any major U.S. banks in particular, but everyone has a story.
We gain many members because of NF is responsible about how money is used, and has lending requirements that make sense and reduce risk while allowing the average Joe to borrow money.
