Do you work at Social Security Administration? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

yeah i have worked for SSA before as a student internship this pass summer. i found out about the job from my school's career center. they rarely hire new people so i was really lucky to have received the job. i really enjoyed my summer working there with the nice and friendly staffs. if you want to get in, you will need to wait until they are really urgent to hire someone.

This job was filled a long time ago! Why don't they just take it off the website?? STOP GIVING PEOPLE FALSE HOPE!! there are so many people who would love to have a decent job like this but we all know that they only hire people who have the right connections...the rest of us have to fight over the crumbs that are left for crappy jobs in crappy non profit organizations. I think it's time for hudsonvalleyhelpwanted to update their site and delete jobs like this. Why do they even bother to advertise jobs like this anyway? We all know that anyone who applies won't even get a phone call b/c they already hired from within. Get real!!!

The way to get a job?? MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RELATIVE OR BEST FRIEND WHO WORKS THERE WHO CAN GET YOU IN!! It doesn't matter how educated or experienced you are, all they want is someone with the right connections. you can be the biggest moron who doesn't deserve the job but you will get it if you know someone with influence..

How you doing Kingston, NY?

Just curious what kind of work do you do?

When I go to the NYS Dept of Labor in Monticello, every new hire is a friend of the Supervisor. True story. It is what it is.

Good to see a fellow Hudson Valley citizen on Indeed. Take care.

The local NY Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther. I think that's her political title here.

Her Head of Staff is now working high up in the NY State Dept of Labor.

I don't waste my time any longer applying to govt jobs, waste of time. Takes away from my porn watching.

Thanks for your acknowledgement. It really is a scam isn't it?? Well, maybe if there are enough posts like ours, they will get the message. (Not that anything will change, but at least we can speak our minds!)
