Three weeks ago I attended an Apprenticeship interview in Retail. I got through the interview very well and got responses such as "that was spot on" and the interviwers seemed very happy, nodded their heads always. I then went on to do the assesment and didnt do that well but was told the interview was the main part. I got told I will recieve a reply within 2-3 weeks so I kept following up I even saw one of the lady's and asked if I got the Apprenticeship and the lady said she cannot tell me any thing as this is unprofessional however what she said was that I was one of the better candidates and she also told me she knows who got accepted and told me to wait. I then followed up once again via email as this is approaching the third week on friday and I got a response from the HR team saying "You will receive a letter in the post in the next few days, if you have not received anything by monday please contact us".

I just want to ask if you think this is a good thing or not?

Hello Dennis,

It's hard to say whether it is a good sign or not, however my advice to you is to be patient and don't try to follow up anymore. The reason is that it is not uncommon for an employer to change their mind about a good candidate and not hire them simply because the candidate became an annoyance after the interview. Wait out the few days and contact them Monday afternoon.

Cheers,
