Due to the market climate I looking to transition into public Accounting by leveraging my MBA as the key to my career change. I expect to pass all 4 parts by October 2010. I have no experience in Accounting except for Accounts Payable. However, I am a quick learner & dedicated worker.
My career goal is: work for a small -- mid size CPA firm in Chicago area, gain ~2 years experience and then purchase my own established CPA firm.
I am concerned about how to transition into the field since my undergraduate background / prior work experience is not in this field. I am even willing to work an unpaid internship upon graduation if it may lead to a full-time position. My Undergrad Major GPA is 3.40 / MBA GPA is 3.50.
Anybody here successfully transition?
Any help or networking / leads are appreciated! Thanks!
