Autocad, Autocad, Autocad ... that's all you need to know. Be able to do changes after changes, sitting in front of the computer, working long hours, getting low pay and minimal compensation. |

On a broader perspective: Ability to solve problems, willingness to learn and grow, and self-discipline (if you're considering licensure, since no one will push you for that). |

Out of all the traits I would have to say the one that is the most scarcest is revit. At least that's the way I feel about in indiana. There are five certified professionals in the state, me being one of them, and I survived three rounds of layoffs. I believe that revit is still an emerging component of the industry, one which everyone has yet been able to grasp. I would also say if there is no preference go with revit mep, which is more the engineering version. It has the least pool of expertise. |
