Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming collections specialist interview?

Are there common interview questions that come up again and again?

Most important thing to remember before the interview is to be yourself. Think before answering questions, and be to the point. Most common question is If you have a difference of oppion with a boss or coworker how do you handle the dispute or conflict?

Remember the collections is a sales job. You need give the customer all the reasons, to the customer's benefit why the debt should be paid, and then allow the customer to make a decision. Possible reasons may be...The contract is schedule for possible upcoming legal audit, or future orders may be held up if the debt is not paid. After you have stated all the good reasons for payment, you allow the customer to make a decision; do not make it for them, because if you make seem that it was their decision, the customer will be more likely to follow through on a payment promise when the payment date comes up. Also remember that your goal is to get the customer to make a commitment to pay, you are looking for a payment date and an amount. You make give the customer choices, Friday or Monday, choice of different payment plans, once a month or twice a month with lesser amount each time. Make this known to your interviewer, and you may score many points.
