Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming cost accountant interview?

Are there common interview questions that come up again and again?

you just need to know your cost backwards & forwards. buzz words like PPV, direct labor, overhead, scrap variances, unit of measure inventory errors - if standard cost is used. to know the system helps. ask questions about the proceedures of the daily activities - use your experience if the field, chances are you are talking with a dept head that has no idea how the functions actually work. good luck & i'm looking for a manufacturing cost position in the atlanta GA area.

For example what do you do most in your life that might effect your skills...Or What is the most or the thing that you really do have power in when it comes to working as an accountant.

Know the basics! Especially if you are trying to work with a new system. Knowing the system is great but once you out that and into another, it really comes down to the basics. If you know basics for example, prepress are assets and once they come together to be the product and its sold... what happens? Knowing accounting and how to handle each item really kicks in at that point!
