I have just started a job as an administrative assistant for a law school. It's a great place to work. The same school's assistant Dean's office has an opening for an Executive Assistant with a base pay of $7000 more per year for which I am amply qualified and for which I have already submitted my resume. An email was sent to all employees with current internal job postings and instructions to contact HR if we are interested in any of the internal job postings. What can I do to help improve my chances of being considered for the EA job? Give me some advice about how to approach HR to help me move up.
