Has anyone heard of or had dealings with National Healthcareer Association. Found in google search. Alicia in Brooklyn, New York 59 months ago	Hi Wandab, I recieved my certification through the NHA. The test is 200 questions and cost $150. If you pass the test you will be certified in CCMA, CET,and CPT. You will recieve the CCMA certificate automatically, if you want the CPT, and CET certificates, you will have to send the NHA an additional $38. - Was this comment helpful? I will be living here in Michigan until Jan. 2009 and moving to Orlando Forida and don't want to have any problems. Polick (CHI) in Rahway, New Jersey 53 months ago	NHA / The National Healthcareer Association exam is different and i think its more relevant,also the NHA exam has phlebotomy and EKG certification as part of the exam, I am an instructor and i like to have my students come out of the exam with Multiple skills/ certifications as they get that from the CCMA exam!/so my answer is NHA exam is better.. I was kinda confused at this because after doing my hw on medical assistant and their certifications, I thought MA's worked under either a nursing license or doctors license. I could be wrong though. Polick (CHI) in Rahway, New Jersey 52 months ago	I have taught Medical Assistant classes in NY, NJ, Florida and Texas and have always used the N.H.A C.C.M.A Certification (the exam is just so much more relevant) for my students, its more widely accepted and the multiple Certifications they get the one exam makes them more Marketable...I have used them since around 1997. Dana D in milledgeville, Georgia 52 months ago	I GRADUATED FROM A SCHOOL THAT WAS APPROVED AS A TESTING SITE FOR NHA NATIONAL HEALTHCAREER ASSOCIATION. AND GOT CERTIFIED BY THEM, THE CERTIFICATION HELPED ME OBTAIN A REALLY GOOD POSITION IN THE HOSPITAL. IT REALLY IS A NICE CAREER CHANGE. I REALLY LIKE BEING A CCMA I AM TOLD THAT THIS JOB WILL BE GROWING A LOT IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS. IF YOU HEAR THE PRESIDENT TALK ABOUT NEW JOB GROWTH CCMA IS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST ALONG WITH PHLEBOTOMY, ADMINISTRATIVE MEDICAL ASSISTANTS AND BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST. I am currently looking into Hohokus school (Eastwick College) and they offer everything there; clinicals, all certifications etc.) but the fee for the 9 month course is $14,000!. Do you feel the courses would be better at the hohokus school? I realize school accreditation is the important issue but the education I am getting is also a concern for the money. N.H.A I know them well, I met the Executive Director Mr Foti last Year(and a few other interesting people from the Organization) at the Career School Convention, Great Organization,I highly recommend them Mr Foti came out of the US Labor Department and he has advanced knowledge about the Health career job sector.Also I just reviewed their Magazine online www.hccmag.com very interesting well written.Great for Schools. Some career schools are very good,but you should do your homework and check out all Medical Assistant programs.If you find it cheaper and it offers National Certification (as I mentioned I prefer NHA)then that would be good. Leslie L L in Washington, District of Columbia 50 months ago	Debbie National Healthcareer Association Certification covers Two Years but you need to Maintain your Credits each year(5 credits) and every two years you get a new card for another 2 years. I have NHA certification as a Certified Medical Lab Assistant from NHA for the past 2 years working at a hospital lab, and taking the NHA Phlebotomy Exam next week. I will let everyone know how I do!
