Alicia in Brooklyn, New York said: Hi Wandab, Thanks for your reply. So you have had no problems with the certification being legit? They offer a home study refreshers course I want to take prior to taking the exam. I will be living here in Michigan until Jan. 2009 and moving to Orlando Forida and don't want to have any problems. I want to work in OB and go back to school for an ultrasound tech, just don't want to waste money I could have used for some pre-req classes. Thanks again. |

National Healthcareer Association is a legitimate organization so no one should worry about their legitimacy. Their wikipedia article is comprehensive and they work with DANTES www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_Web/library/docs/certification/NHA.pdf

NHA / The National Healthcareer Association exam is different and i think its more relevant, also the NHA exam has phlebotomy and EKG certification as part of the exam, I am an instructor and i like to have my students come out of the exam with Multiple skills/ certifications as they get that from the CCMA exam!/so my answer is NHA exam is better..

If I have no experience in the field but have some knowledge of the material, Is the NHA's study guide enough to pass the test? If not, what other material is recommended? Thanks, |

I though AAMA was the certification you get from an accrediate school and NHA was from one that was not? More employers, through my job search in Raleigh, NC has requested having the AAMA certification before applying....I am looking into schools now for CMA.... |

I have taught Medical Assistant classes in NY, NJ, Florida and Texas and have always used the N.H.A C.C.M.A Certification (the exam is just so much more relevant)
