Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most patient care technician opportunities?

Yes, I would like to know this also. In Southern California PCT jobs are mainly as Dialysis Tech, which requires more training (not just PPCT cert). Most hospitals, though are only hiring PCT (aka CA's PCA's, etc) because of multi-skilling to save money. Because PCTs do venipuncture and EKG applications, in addition to all the other nursing functions, one is more likely to get hired in a hospital or doctor's office. Many doctors are hiring PCTs instead of MTs to save money with this new Obamacare law. So, keep up the good fight for your job search. Best to you all -- fellow PCT.

This is a growing field and yet I have found it very difficult to find a reputable institution to attend for hemodialysis technician training in Ohio. Owens community college, the largest community college in northwest Ohio is considering offering a hemodialysis program but will need a minimum level of interest before they will offer the program. Is anyone else interested in hemodialysis technician training in Ohio?
