-Out perform the Security Director at your site
-Best Incident Reports (most pleasing to the client that can help in court)
-Over the top round reports (find things that most guards miss)
-Treat everyone with respect
Then once your Director of Security, work it for a year or so then move to a site and get the respect you want.
You do need to bend over backwards for the client for at least a year and leave on good terms with a good excuse. Try to get letters of recommendation. (I received around 5 my first year as a guard, and one from the client when I became Director of Security [before I left]). Now I work at a corperate headquarters as the director of security and I am highly respected as the client. You do need to come off as a strict person at first to your guards to gain the respect from the client.
