I've been a "technician" of one type or another for over 20 years, with hourly rates ranging from $8 to $22. Worst paid being a "production tech" and the best being "engineering" or "calibration". Benefits vary wildly, depending on where you are. Once you have a resume history of being a technician of any kind, it's extremely difficult to escape that box. I received my BA back in 2000 and have been trying to break into a professional band ever since... with no luck. |
