For TSA job, is it a requirement to give candidate reason for rejection?

I traveled two hours for an on-site interview, and ten minutes after the interview ended they tell me (in the waiting room) that I was rejected.

The problem is that when I asked them why, they said it was confidential and they couldn't disclose the reason for rejecting me.

My question is: Can they just reject me without giving me a reason? Do I have a legal right to know why they rejected me?

Thanks.
