And after I passed my interview I was able to choose my start date and they did their best to match it. You guys, are these people legit? I can not find any telephone number or physical street address to Steiner Training Academy in England. |

People,I was in steiner training academy and I left it.They treat the students like a dogs and slaves. They charge for this terrible uniform 32 pounds and it costs not more then 5 pounds on the market. For chinese shoes they charge 18 pounds and the shoes dont deserve more than 2 pounds. They products are garbage ,contain chemicals and preservatives ,but Steiner will fors you to sell them to the passangers. You have to sell every week for 6000 dolars for example. Their contract is totally unlegal and they can fire you in every moment you are on a board a cruise ship. You dont have medical insurance or selary. The acommodation in london is the cheapest one ,but they charge you 480 pounds for it.The teachers are stupids and I am not sure that they have any cerification .

Hei people! I have to thank you for all the interesting comments you wrote here. It's really helping me to decide if apply to Steiner or not. I am a fitness instructor and personal trainer and I would like to work for Steiner. But it is scary what I read about this company... I would like to ask PT/fitness instructors (or somebody who knows something useful to me) that worked on board with Steiner, following questions:
I read that massage therapists and others professionals have very difficult on ship, plus that they are obliged to sell a certain amount of crapy products... I am sorry for that. In short: How will be the life for a fitness instructor/personal trainer on board? Anything you can say which might interest my living condition or my profession on board is very welcome :) Thank you. John (dlpersonalmail@gmail.com) |

my daughter is currently @ steiner..so to all those young hopefuls google as much about steinr because all that maya said is true..it is a no care no responsibility contract and she has been there a week staying in a rathole of ymca and so stressed and lost and homesick i am getting her home . and its going to cost us money to do that!! what not very nice ppl..and the more i read about them you have to be pushy salesperson..just think very carefully before applying or signing up. |

Hi Just been reading your comment, and lots of others too. Did your daughter decide to stick it out and is she now on a ship, or did you end up going to pick her up and cut your losses. I am very concerned and worried as my daughter starts training in three weeks, not sure if its such a good idea as it seemed at the time of the interview? Please let me know Many thanks |

If you are a hard worker than you are a hard worker. The accomodation is free amongst many other things, unless you break your contract. Simple. |

Yes the potential to earn is really good. There is so set hourly wage so how muc you earn is directly related to how hard you work. If you work hard and learn how to retail and sell then you can esrn lots. You keep around 8% of everything you sell so for an example in one morning alone I sold $12000 so I made myself around £1000 English pounds in just 3 hours. However, sometimes it's very difficult and I only made £80 In one whole week (I worked 80hours that week) so I was on £1 per hour. So it is very ludacris. Ok average I made $4000 per week I keep 8% so about £350 English pounds per week. I came home with £150000 In the bank which is why I am doing a second contract. I hope this helps x |

I'm due to start training in 2 weeks. I'm very nervous due to negative comments but also realise these people probably have deluded perceptions. At my interview I was told about all the 'downsides' eg shared cabin, no pay at training, hostel at training and the chance that you may not actually see that much of the world and that the pay may not be what you expect unless you are willing to put in the hard work. I think everyone should take it as their own experience and not be clouded by what the negative or positive people say. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and even if I hate it, I'm going to make the most of it while I can. |

I will start at the academy in 5 weeks.....and like you said you make it your own experience. I'm really excited and determined to stay positive regardless of any of the negative comments. If there is anyone out there with any packing tips of what to bring or not......I would appreciate it. :-) |

Hi, If your prepared not too earn much money ave 400 pounds a month and wait for 8 weeks before you get paid then go for it. The travelling is good and the people you meet are great. It's long days and sell sell sell. You've been warned...a lot of us PT'S dont make ıt to the end of the contract. Also be prepared for 3 weeks of non stop work day and night. Good Luck |

I understand people are going to have their opinions and taking into considerations people would rather go out of their way to complain rather then commemorate about anything really. I have had an interview recently with S and seriously inquiring in working for this company, but have read about the nightmares and hell of this company????? and what is the earning potential for hairstylists on board, i would really like to talk to someone who has worked as a hairstylist on board with Steiner and also I have not herd much about the turnover? is there any guarantee for further contracts? |

Hi Guys, I have been training with Steiner and worked on a cruiseship for them for 8 months. A lot of the things said are the truth, but I just want to say, I would NEVER have wanted to miss the opportunity! Most of the people that are complaining missed the satisfaction of completing the whole thing. Do you think that running a marathon is fun whilst doing it...
You can also email me for questions at daan_duijm@hotmail.com

@KJ, I've emailed you. @MDF, as you might know you work based on commission. So your turnover depends on your business and the amount you sell. It has a little to do with the ship as well, some ships have different clientel. Most people quit by themselfs, but if you made good money and want to do another contract you can. No problem as long as you are making money for Steiner. @Frank, See explaination above. Hard to tell, depends on your targets, if you make them, sometimes money is good, sometimes it sucks. If you are good, sell and get clients in you can make a good living. @Balboa, It differs every week. I made somewhere between 60 and 350 per week. But that is me, and I did not do Everything i could have done, because somethings i just did not find ethical. Email me for more questions on daan_duijm@hotmail.com, I will give you a honost answer on your individual questions.
