I am interested in pursuing a career in the geospatial intelligence field. I have a degree in Geography with a background in GIS, remote sensing etc.
I originally planned to join the military and go intel after college, but unfortunately a medical condition (kidney inflammation) has disqualified me from military service with my recent waiver request denied.
Plan B for me is to go to Graduate school and get into one of the Government Intelligence Agencies (DIA, NGA, CIA) via an internship. Since my whole plan will ride entirely on getting an internship (I need to be sponsored by an agency for a clearance) I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a degree in Geospatial Intelligence? I am looking at Penn State & George Mason in particular.
I've been warned before not to get a degree based on GIS, so not sure if there may be a better degree for this field?
Also does anyone know if the the medical requirements for an intel job are as strict as the military?
Thanks and sorry for the long post!
