With all this talk about how the profession is dying, should I even bother sticking through with Surveying? Should I switch majors? Is the profession really as bad as what this forum makes it out to be? |

Brad, I am a 31yr old recently registered surveyor in S.C. I have finally achieved my dream after all my hard work and now there is no work...trying to stay positive but i'm having doubts. if you enjoy it, stick with it. Good luck! |

If anything, I would switch my major to Civil Engineering. I wonder if they are as affected as Surveyors... |

Do you guys think surveying will be back in demand when the economy gets back on its feet? Or is it something beyond the economy? |

Land surveying is a very good business, but there's no saying if it will become better in the future. I agree with Brad when he said you can switch to Civil Engineering just in case. |

Too late for me...been surveying over 30 years. I don't recommend it...change majors! |
