Hi,
I'm going to be applying to the MA program at my community college. They offer both a certificate as well as an associate's degree in Medical Assisting. Does anyone know if the pay varies between the two after graduation? Does an AA increase chances of employability, ect?

Thanks!

Yes, the pay does vary. Someone with an associates degree would make more. The pay may not vary by much, but a few extra dollars an hr adds up! I also believe it does increase your chances of being employed. Someone with an associates degree is more educated than someone with a certificate and will mostly like be chosen over someone with only a certificate.

In the Cary and Raleigh area the pay ranges from $14-$22 based on education and experience.

Hope I helped!!
