I am considering going to a AHIMA certified school for an RHIT AA degree. What are all my employment options with a RHIT degree besides just coding. Coders don't make much money in my area, or at least not compared to other industries such as tech. I know there is a tech side to HIM, but I'm not a tech person so I don't think I'd do well in that. Is it true to move from HIT to HIM you need your bachelors degree? Also, can anyone tell me what the average salary is for an HIT person in the Bay Area (San Jose & general geographic area)? As a single mother, I need to make sure I will be able to support myself & my children on my own.
