jennifer in Temecula, California 48 months ago	ROP is regional occupational program...it's tuition free training. it has it's fees, but not nearly as much as private schools do. it's a program here in California. Thank you I took a course for 400.00 thru the cranston school department, fatima hospital puts the course out. Just finished the course approx 3 months ago can't find a job, you need to be hired thru a teaching facility, hospital or lab, most of them right now have a job freeze, good luck on your search. - Was this comment helpful? cookie in West Warwick, Rhode Island 48 months ago	If I were u I would check all hospitals in your area, some of them hold classes and also your local school deptment, my state we had classes thru the Cranston school dept, but held by Fatima and St. Josephs Hospital. PhlebWiz in Baltimore, Maryland 28 months ago	There are several affordable phlebotomy classes in Baltimore. Sojourner Douglass College is very affordable. In addition, they allow you to get certified at the end of the program with the American Academy of Phlebotomy Technicians. JC Wilson in Baltimore, Maryland 28 months ago	That is a pretty good price. I attended a workshop for $250. It was also for 2 days from 9a-5p. It included textbooks and a clinical externship. I received my certification as well with AAPT. This workshop is located 6609 Reisterstown Road. This workshop was only for people who are GNAs, CNAs, LPNs etc. I really was hesistant but it was very informative. Before we drew blood on each other in class we practice on an artificial arm. Thank you Medical Career Specialists offers several healthcare training programs including Phlebotomy. Their Phlebotomy Technician Certification workshops are only two (2) days long and covers EVERYTHING and you even get to do hands on practice. Mock exams, study guide, phlbeotomy cards, lab supplies, etc are all inlcuded in the program fee. At the end of training they register you for the NATIONAL certification exam and have a 98% exam success rate. Pretty impressive. I did the one week Medical Assistant program and got my certification in less than a week and got a job the following week, believe it or not. They do a great job helping with job placement and resume preparation too. I'd recommend anyone to them because you won't be sorry.
