Starting out in the security job industry

I know so many people in the security job industry that I've finally decided to try it out.

Actually I'm a writer and illustrator but see the advantage of having another responsible job just in case. I'm a tough, big guy with college education and knows law, hand to hand, and have great communication and people skills. No criminal background whatsoever. I'd like to get a decent job doing security to help pay for more college.

I know in some states you need just a guard card and others you need a license.

What's the industry like and which state would be more fun to work in?
