I think there are some interesting volunteer options available within New York city. There are also people who do volunteer services within legal sector to help clients and victims of personal injury or any accident within new york city.rgds,

There are several charity and other organisations operating within New York, however there is no parameter to judge their effectiveness.

Every year our govt sanctions thousands of dollars, which is given out to these charities. Some of these are working really hard to improve lives of less priveledged whereas there are those who make it their business ( within new york, nyc,).

From now until November 4th, HLIC New York ( is hosting a "Dine In" ( to raise money to sponsor ( 7,000 Boxes of Love, and then after that they are accepting volunteers to put together the boxes of food (the boxing party). A box of food is delivered to families in need just in time for Thanksgiving. Each Box of Love feeds a family of six and includes a ham or chicken along with vegetables, potatoes, juice, yams, apple or cranberry sauce, bread, fruit, dessert, and Scriptures and children's literature. Each Box of Love will provide a family in need with a Thanksgiving feast.

The US Census Bureau will be hiring New Yorkers to work in their own communities over the coming months in preparation for the 2010 Census. Temporary, full, and part-time positions are available with hourly pay rates ranging from $14 to $21. Please go to more information.
