Engineering in and around New York City

Hello all, I'm a recent graduate with a first class honors B.E in Electrical Power Systems and have just moved to NYC. I was wondering if anyone here knows of some companies who take on graduates as most of the searches are coming back looking for 5-10 yrs experience. Ideally I'd love to work in automation and control, but I'm definately not picky, I have 7 years experience as an electrician so working in building services and the like would be great too.
