I will have a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in 2008, and I will be moving out to Southern California with my buddy who is currently a police officer and army national guard.

Now I have heard that police pay out there (Newport beach/Laguna beach) is really good (89k and up) now with having another roommate with me, would we be able to get a nice condo out on the ocean or really close to the ocean?

What do most people do out there job wise that are able to live on the beach front?
