I myself don't think it's normal. I just can't figure out what is really wrong.
After left work for about 18 months for the pregnancy/baby reason, I am ready to go back to work and find it is a really difficult and discouraging.
Besides taking care my baby, I spend 2 to 3 hours, that's a lot for a mom, a day to browse internetfor a job.,Sometimes I submit resume and cover-letters but hardly have the time to customize it throughly. I have MA degree but not much decent work experience, which is less than 2 years. For past three months, I had to leave my baby alone and sat in a corner to do the job hunting and calling. Get nothing! I want to stay positive and want to see what are other people's experience. What do you experience? Any help or suggestions? I really appreciate your input even though I don't know who you are. I want to say thanks to everybody that intends to help me.

Just keep at it! The time it takes to find a job differs for everyone.

Have you taken the time to have someone at a Career Center at an educational environment look at your resume and cover letter? Those two things can make or break you. It might not be a bad idea to have someone review those materials. Or, maybe you already have? I'm not sure.

Just keep positive! It's so hard... and three months? Ah! That takes some patience.

It's not easy to find a job, a GOOD job that is. There are many other such individuals who write on this site about the challenges and obstacles of finding a GOOD job. Just keep at it!

Guys, sorry but Pasadena Alpine (as if that name makes any sense) is a troll for providing a place for the spam that follows. Click on "her" name to see her other posts: badly written for a supposed MA, and "she" doesn't respond to the offers of help.

I find this so highly irritating. Can't we do something about this? Ignoring them doesn't seem to make them go away.
I am afraid that some of the people who come here just might become desperate enough to get hooked by this kind of scam.

Thanks to Career Hunter for "researching" this and pointing it out.

Try clicking the "Report abuse" link when you see these spams. That will flag them for Indeed and perhaps make them go away.

Pasadena Alpine, sorry, but not finding a job in three months of looking is nothing. With all due respect, wait 'til you've been looking for a year or more and then we'll talk about being discouraged. Also, you don't have to deal with being "overqualified" because of too much experience or with being older.

In the meantime, try a little harder. Look at other sources besides the internet for leads and put more effort into your cover letters and resumes, and you may have better results. Good luck.

Oh. Didn't see your post before I posted, above. I agree with your comment about "her" writing.

Nonetheless, my comments stand.
