Hi, i'd like to get your opinions regarding my situation. I started a business late last year. I spend 70 to 80 hrs a week in the business. It affected my life greatly. I spend less and less time with my kids and husband, i'm not having fun with the business and not making money due to bad economy. After 5 months I sold the business and i have big loans to pay. I am going for a job interview soon and I don't know if mentioning these matters will make me look bad. Will the ineterviewer think i'm a failure? Thanks in advance. 826

I believe you can use your story to your advantage. Focus on the positive aspects of the experience.

Starting a business takes a great deal of ambition, organization and time management (especially while managing a family). Perhaps you can also speak to creating a plan, course correcting and quickly identifying something that was simply not working. I think it should be perceived as very good quality.

Remember, focus on the positive and, for goodness sake, don't even THINK the word failure. I am sure you have taken a great deal of knowledge away from the experience. I don't think that sounds like failing.

Best of luck to you!
