Can a non-student but certified pharmacy technician have a chance of volunteering?

I've just completed Pharmacy Tech training at a trade school program including one month of externship at a nearby Walgreens about a year ago. Though I am now certified, I am having some difficulty being hired within the pharmacy field because most pharmacies require at least one to two years of work experience as a technician. Now my question here is, how should I go about volunteering only as a certified non-student pharmacy technician to gain experience? I've been applying almost everywhere and still feel like I need some sort of guidance within this area.

Start with the Red Cross. Be ready to pass a background check. Start calling places and ask about volunteer positions.
