Laura R in Atlanta, Georgia said: I feel the same way you do. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. I have over 10 yrs. of hospital experience and can't fine a enty level business management job. I don't know what is going on but keep the faith! Haha I feel ripped off. If I knew college was going to only bring me opportunities from rip off companies like Ameriprise, I think I would have just tried to secure a job in the Post Office or something. |

And the Post Office has an excellent retirement plan. Same goes for firefighter and police officer positions. These positions also are not known to get laid off. Like the saying goes, "If only I knew then what I know now". |

Unless you have a 4 year degree like Accounting, Engineering (I believe I misspelled the word), or Nursing coming out of college, it is very challenging to find a decent entry-level job. |

Is it the economy, or is that just how it's always been? I have been working in the human service field since 1996, I have been certified as a substance counselor since 2002, have worked with adolescents and adults inpatient and outpatient including corrections, I have my AAB degree, will have my BS in Human Service Management, I got laid off from my program director job and cannot find a job. All the years experience people want me to have my degree right now or want to jerk me with a very low entry level pay. Times are depressing so I say to you don't give up. If you here of workshops in the field you want to get into attend and mingle a lot. Also if you have any time see if you can volunteer somewhere that can get you connected. Best of Luck! |
