Thanks,

It's important to keep in mind that a video resume isn't going to get you a job. However, if can assist you in marketing yourself to prospective employers - if it's done right. Done poorly, it can, at best, hinder your chances of getting an interview. At worst, it can knock you out of contention and embarrass you. That's what happened to one student who sent a video showing himself lifting weights, serving tennis balls, and ballroom dancing. It made the rounds on the Internet and didn't impress, to say the least, any prospective employers.

Thanks!

HR managers do NOT want video resumes, they do not have time.

I am not sure you need to look at either video resume or written resume. If a software could combine the two and allow an HR manager convenient searching and then review video only of the top candidates that might be beneficial.

Video alone is not convenient for hiring managers, it's like asking candidates to watch a video job posting. How would it take a job seeker to browse and apply for jobs? Now it a job seeker can search text and then have a link to the employer's short video then it might work.

Hey Mo!

We have a solution very similar to what you're describing.. Our video resume platform provides the ability to send out "MeView"s to prospective employers, which include a video resume/introduction, a embedded, searchable online version of the "written" resume, plus other summary and contact information on a single, branded (web)page.

If you're interested in checking it out and have a webcam or other digital camera, you can sign up for a free trial on the website.
