I was a stay at home and am now a single mother so When I landed myself a job working from home as an independent contractor doing mechanical drawings for a company,I was really excited to have a chance to make money and care for my baby myself.
Needless to say the honeymoon is over I think. Number one,I know I am being under paid -i didn't know how to negotiate and just took what was offered-under 15/hour- I cannot pay my bills with this salary now that I am on my own and there are people doing the same work who get 35-75 an hour for this type work.
2. I find myself having to constantly ask for assignments.( this is a small company run by 1 person and he has maybe 5 other employees)
3. I have the pay check to paycheck blues- I am at the mercy of this employer when payday comes and find myself sometimes waiting for days for a check that was supposedly mailed! This might be tolerable for a single person- but I have an infant to support.
I'm debating whether I should have a talk with my "client" or find someone else to work for at the right price and then go back to this guy and inform him that things need to change or I walk?
Maybe I should just use the downtime to
do another side business like selling stuff on ebay to take up the slack?
Any advice?
Thanks!

It sounds like you have the skills and will power to succeed in anything. I was forced out of my job in corporate America due to downsizing. Now I work for a global company from home, if you want to hear more contact me at scouch57@gmail.com

Why do you refuse to answer my requests to provide the name of this company you are so happy with? You are obviously hiding something or you would be willing to share the name.

An independent contractor is a natural person, business or corporation which provides goods or services to another entity under terms specified in a contract or within a verbal agreement. Unlike an employee, an independent contractor does not work regularly for an employer but works as and when required, during which time she or he may be subject to the Law of Agency.

It's a private franchised business. You sell tons of different products through affiliate marketing. Selling some exclusive and some non exclusive products. A strong emphasis on healthy exclusive consumables.

So what are the start-up costs? Is recruiting others to work under you a part of the process?

Thanks!

Start up cost is anywhere from about $60-$200. No more than 200.
Finding people and helping them build up their business is part of the business.

Yes, they are all scams and 99.9% of people who join these cults lose money. How do you explain that?

What is the name of your MLM so people can do some research?

Hello? Are you there? So what is the name of this MLM you are recruiting for?

I guess there's a reason you don't want to share the name . . .

Working out of your home should be a gift especially if the purpose is to stay at home with your child. I partner with a 23-year old wellness company that could give you the income and flexiblity that you need. This company manufactures environmentally friendly household supplies and personal care products. Being part of the green movement at this time has been very successful. If you are open to listening to another opportunity that you can do alongside what your currently doing, I'd love to schedule a 45 min. phone call with me and it may change your life, like it has changed mine!

When a company claims that it is not Multi-level marketing (like Advancing with Us does), you should be suspicious. Tina Blease is obviously trying to recruit people for her MLM.

Beware of MLM's like this one. You'll end up losing all your money. Check out this website to learn how dangerous MLM's are:

Rosco obviously doesn't have anything better to do than slam people for trying to earn a living. Quit being so butt hurt.

I have no problem with people earning a living. My problem is when people try to pass off pyramid schemes as business opportunities. When more than 99% of participants of MLM's lose money, that is not earning a living.

Go back to your multi-level marketing D in Clackamas

this wellness company you are referring to sounds a lot like Herbalife, which I can attest to is a scam....I was sucked in and lost more than 8k.

I understand what you are saying. I have heard many sad stories such as yours. It is not like Herbalife, a scam or MLM. There is no investment, no sales, no inventory, no delivery, no paperwork. It's the first and largest customer referral based company in the US. Obviously you are into health and wellness or you would not have been intersted in Herbalife. Give me 30 minutes of your time, with all your questions and concerns, to see if it makes sense to you. It's your choice and I will honor that. :)

Don't fall for Tina's scam. This company that she is RECRUITING for is a classic MLM. It's just like Herbalife and all the rest. They present it as a business opportunity and then they suck you dry!!

It's important to remember that every individual has a choice and not all homebased business are created equal. Instead of being negative, we should be helping each other with suggestions and referrals as most individuals and families are hardworking and just trying to do the right thing and financially survive. As a mom, all I have wanted is to be my children's mom. For employment, all I have wanted is to have is a job that I can make an honest, good living at and be my children's mom. I have been quite successful over the past 20 years and offer the same opportunity to help others do the same. I am sorry I contributed to this post and I won't be responding again as I don't feel I need to justify my existence or challenge an others.

Oh Boo Hoo! You mentioned employment. How can you justify an MLM as employment? MLM's are money sucking schemes designed to get those at the top rich while everyone else loses money. Shame on you!

I do quality assurance for a web-hosting company and we get a lot of people who want to create websites for their MLM "businesses", but all they are interested in is capturing leads. We try to convince them to provide valuable content and drive traffic to their site through organic searches, but they're so focused on doing things their way that it's hard to get them to see any other way.

You can work from home and make a decent living. I do and I love it. I started with my own website as a stay-at-home-mom. I just wanted some "play" money. Now, I work for the company that I used to create my site. It's worked out well, but it didn't happen overnight. It's been about three years of gaining visibility, doing the right things and putting in the time - at first on a volunteer basis. It's really paid off now.

Just be careful what you get into and read everything carefully.

Here's a series of articles that I thought offered MANY good pieces of advice for someone in your position. The addy leads to Chapter 1, which is a table of contents - She says "30 articles, 1 per day" but only has 18 up there so far.
Still... I thought it was REALLY good stuff.

Best of luck out there, y'all :)
