Only good for housekeeping in Baltimore, Maryland 36 months ago |
With a black president, there are many companies out there that are racist. For example, Lorien Mays Chapel nursing home. As a black african american with a bachelors degree asked if there was any opening positin within the company and where can i go to apply. I was told by HR Mangers and the rest from HR that they never have opening in other area except for housekeeping and dietary aid. Not working for a while, I figured why not but the way they spoke to the black people and they are letting me know even as educated black you are only good for housekeeping. They told me that they would start me out at $9.50 but when I came back for another interview he told me $9.00. The admistrator very rude an obnoxious, they need to be fired from there job John Lurz, Porter Scott, the HR crew and the blonde. It is sad that these things are still happening today. |

Don't take it that because that is the way you were treated, that is the way it is for all companies. I am white and now 51. I have three college degrees (court reporting, business administration, and paralegal). I am having difficulty finding a job in Tampa (but Tampa has ALWAYS been a "competitive" market. I now have alternative teaching certification, so I am subbing. What I see in the schools is hispanics are hired to work in the cafeterias and janitorial jobs. I have spent five months building my shorthand speed so I can go back to court reporting. |

It is hard to live in a system where you are expected to pay taxes and the system fails you. They can't lay off thousands and create a few hundred jobs expecting it to work. It is not your fault or my fault. I meet unemployed pros at the employment office every time that I go. They can't replace the jobs they had. Most of the people getting jobs are in desperation taking half or less of what they were making. We are far into this new leadership and we can see that we the American people are not the priority on the list. A program that is long term is to late for us. We need a stimulus that works for us now not after we have lost everything. All I can say is with the elections coming next year there better be some changes that serve the American people or we can vote that sorry congress out of there. What can we possible expect from a leader who openly supports immorality. God Bless America and help us all take out the trash. |

I am interested in an opening with in the Construction field. In addition, I have exceptional written and communication skills with over 15 years of technical experience to offer you. I also hold two Associates of Science degrees in Architecture. I am seeking opportunities that are challenging. My experience regards Construction Oversight Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Inspections. I have had the ability to provide a full range of management and inspection duties in new, as well as renovation construction including wastewater Facilities. All of which I will use to prevail and minimize time and materials while expediting and enhancing both value and production. I know for myself, I do not allow salary, benefits, nor status to define my work satisfaction. I look for the opportunity to continue learning. I feel fortunate to have a job that encourages a growth opportunity. I view a challenge as an opportunity rather than a stressful situation. I can promise that meeting with me will not be a waste of your time and I will make myself available at your convenience, during or outside of normal business hours. I appreciate your time to review my resume and see if there may be a position that I would be able to support your clients in fulfilling. Sincerely,

Got laid off 4 months ago...after ZERO luck finding anything and exhausting savings in 3 months, I had an idea - cannot imagine why I thought of this. I went to the damned hardware store, bought two cans of luminescent white and gray spray paint and also bought 3" tall stencils of the numbers 0-9....I currently go door to door asking folks if they'd like their street number stenciled on the curb in front of their home or mailbox for $5. Sounds funny, right? Someone I know initially likened my idea to a foolish kid's lemonade stand. Lemme tell you the results of my little idea. I knock on neighborhhod doors for 6 hours each day and make about $150 cash every day on average. Been just about 4 weeks now. I work 5-6 days per week, always on the weekends. I never made 700-900 bucks a week before this. A few folks tried to copy me in the area, but their greed got the best of them because they were charging $20. I know because I have come behind them and had people pay me $5 that refused my competitors when they passed thru. Heck, some people say no at first, but many inevitably say yes when I offer to do it for $3. Every one of you can do this. I am no genius. Everyone lives near streets that have houses and street numbers with curbs and houses just waiting to be stenciled. ;-) |

Hi Everyone! I read all your posts, and from the looks of these troubles we are experiencing, everything start back in the 90s. It's all political issues, and we, the majority of the minorities (because we don't hold higher positions in the gov't) are affected by their selfish actions and decisions. Each and everyone of you hold a degree, and I feel your incense because I am unemployed since December 2008. Ten days before Christmas I come to work and soon to find out it is my last day. I lost everything except for my children. To this day, I feel exhaustion from all these pain of no income coming in. The only help I get from the government is food stamp and medicaid, and the rest, none. I go back to school to further my education, but the Dept of Human Services will not help for the child care expense because as they say, I am not working. It's a tough fight for the most of us. I emailed the President about my situation, and I ask what kind of help he can provide for parents like me. I only expect that one day he will respond, or maybe in the news, but so far, there is none. |

Interactive Resume? Hem. The problem isn't with our resumes (for the most part). The problem is too many workers for too few jobs (because tooo many jobs are now taken out of the country so American corporations can make more profit by paying below-American wages). Nurses and attorneys are losing their jobs - and you think an interactive resume is a solution. Doing a killer resume - and striving to be beyond perfection - reminds me of being harassed by an administrator I was being harassed by - and trying beyond belief to be the perfect employee -and having her literally laughing at me behind my back. Interactive resume - no thanks. |

Yeah, I guess this is as good as it gets. I guess I can look on the bright side - In January I won't get that extra $25 to my unemployment ($285/300) - and then I can qualify for food stamps. LOL. That $25.00 extra a week COST ME $100 a month (I now have $100 less a month because of that $25.00). |

Senator Kyl (R) of Arizonahas held up the unemployment extension yet again. The press is giving almost no coverage to this issue, Obama sits in his office and acts like nothing is wrong out here and say the jobs will come when the economy improves. I think it is the other way around. I have been reading comments to the few articles out there that are vovering this most important piece of legislature. Peopl ear getting extemeley angry. They are losing their homes and their children are hungry and these duly elected officials are giving our money to other countrys and doing nothing for us. It is time for action! 20% of the populaion are unemployed and there are more to come. By Christmas of 2009 millions will have exhausted their unemployment compensation. It's time to throw the bums out of government. If every unemployed person in this country walked outside and sat down in the street everything would stop. Business, Government, everything. I think it's time to sit down and be counted. We are being ignored while our elected officials are bailing out stock brokers and wealthy bankers.DO SOMETHING DAMNIT! |

So if it is not a get rich quick scheme and a real job according to you, then I have a few questions: 1. Do you have to pay anything to get started?
Those questions should put everyone at ease since there are so many using these forums to peddle work at home schemes and passing them off as jobs. |
|
Jayden T in Alabama 31 months ago |
No need to get so defensive. I merely posted because you claimed it was a real job, when in fact it is not. It is a business venture which is totally different. I am not going to say what most people are turning to because I don't know. But I do know that some who post here are only hoping someone else joins their program just to pad their income. Others post and disguise things as "real jobs" when in fact they require money up front and are not real jobs. With the way the economy is there are some that don't have money to waste trying out money making programs. |

I know it sounds bad there, but for signing up you recieve lifetime travel discounts and I could go on. After becoming a member...you are placed in a bracket, and all you have to do to make fast money is sell the membership to other people. Simple. Once you sell the membership to two people and are pushed out of the bracket you make 500 dollars, and after that you make TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS everytime you move out of the bracket, and not to mention a 5,000 dollar vacation voucher. Yes, this does seem unbelievable but trust me its not. If everyone in this forum signed up for this membership I'm sure most of us would already have recieved 10,000 dollars. Obviously the economy is hurting along with tons of people, so listen when I say that this is the next step to you getting out of your slumps and starting to have extra money in your bank account every month after bills. I know people that have made 60,000 dollars in one month. Feel free to email me for more information at KMacInc18@aol.com Jessica's program is at the top of scams. It's a pyramid scheme - it will crumble. Folks, don't waste that $250 (if you have it to waste). |

247incomenow in higher way of life, Maryland said: And by the way...just because my company requires $99 to join does not mean that this is not "a real job". A job consists of doing work and getting paid, this is exactly what happens every week when my direct deposit goes into my bank account. I firmly believe that some people do not want to work, there are too many opportunities just like mine that are there and waiting for you to join. Do you have to work hard at....YES you do, just as I do, but I also get paid. I am not sitting here feeling sorry for myself and collecting unemployment waiting for someone to knock on my door and give me a job (not saying you are). Not all companies are a SCAM. It pays to do your research and really understand what the company you are considering working for does. In my case, it was a no brainer. And if you would take the time to research the company I work for you would quickly see that. There are some that are legitament and you can actually make money, but you have to be willing to work. A real job does not cost a penny plain and simple. I never said ALL things were a scam. You came here trying to disguise your BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY as a job and that is all there is to it. Any way you slice it you were pretending that it was a real job in the hopes someone would join up. I didn't need to do any research to see right through what you were trying to pass off as a real job. I am not here complaining about not having a job so I don't know who you were referring to. People here are complaining because the job market is poor and some don't have money to waste trying out business programs plain and simple. Every penny counts for some people and some are having a hard enough time as it is without having to pay for some so called job. |

If you can't pay those cards then they will turn you over to a debt collector who will try to hound you to death then finally to an attorney to file a lawsuit against you. Its all downhill from there unless you start learning how to deal with the situation now before it happens. You need to start learning now. Learn about FDCPA and FCRA and how to use those laws to not only make them go away and leave you alone but how to turn the tables on them and make them pay you to go away and leave them alone. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? But national statistics show that more than 28,000 people have done just that and that number is increasing at the rate of about 300 to 500 a month. The success rate is well above 99%. I'll be talking about the subject on my regularly scheduled national conference call tomorrow evening at 7:00 P.M. central time. The call is free and open to the public. There is no obligation whatever. You must give me a name when you call in. I'll ask you for your name as soon as your phone number shows up on my dash board. If your number don't show up you will be dropped from the call. Learning how to win against debt collectors isn't hard. My students have won a total of 172 straight federal cases with never a loss. Once they turn it over to a debt collector the hounding phone calls will begin. You need to learn how to use those as evidence against them and put an end to them as quickly as possible. My creditwrench blogspot com will teach you how to do that and much, much more. My blog will also have the number for the conference call. If you want to learn more make the call Friday evening and we can discuss your problem. |

I didn't need to do any research to see right through what you were trying to pass off as a real job.I've been involved with internet marketing for many years now and I have yet to find even one that could be seen as a real job producing real income that would feed a family and pay the bills. What I do does pay the bills and much more but it isn't done by signing up for some fake program that costs a big monthly fee to be a member or attempts to make money selling Mexican Jumping Beans or little blue pills of some sort. As an experienced internet marketer you can believe me when I tell you that if you have to pay them to work then it isn't a job and probably will cost you more than you make. One example of that was a lady who called me up one day and was on the verge of suicide. She had tried internet marketing to the tune of over $100,000 in credit card debt. She had maxed out all her husband's credit cards without telling him she had done that. She was afraid to tell him saying he would probably beat her up or kill her when he found out. I convinced her to tell him because if he harmed her then she would know how much he loved her. She called me the next day and thanked me. She confessed and he just put his arms around her, kissed her and said "Don't worry Honey, we will work it out somehow." I guess they did because I've never heard from her again. The lesson is that if you are in a hole now then for heavens sakes don't dig it deeper. Scams always sound great but they are just that. Scams. |

Individuals can make $1,125 a month; married people about $1,400 a month. (3) Donate your plasma (worth about $150 a month, and is quick money). The pain is quick. (4) Go to your school district website - see if you qualify for substitute teaching work. (5) Get a night parttime, call center, collections. (6) Get a roommate or two. If you have a one bedroom, then drop the lease and move in with someone else. Sleep on an airmattress. (7) Learn to like peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. They are cheap and filling. Mary, I question your #2 suggestion. People who do #1, won't be eligible for #2 because they are on unemployment getting an income. Many programs I have tried to get are basically for people who are dirt poor. Food stamps is one of them, I'm afraid. I can't even get help with home heating oil in PA, because of unemployment. I make too much money. I like #3, did that many years ago when I was in the military. There used to be a plasma center in town where you could give plasma for money. |

There are a lot of comments about working at home scams. I am someone who does work at home full time. I did not fall for the scam artists and such. I joined online work at home job groups and forums. Did a lot of investigating and exploration before I found the right job. The steps I took to work at home full time was that I did not start it full time. I had another full time job on top of my work at home job. I lost my job of 10 1/2 years and was getting screwed out of unemployment. I started doing the at home call center working at home full time to impliment my income. Until eventually I made a lot more working at home than I ever did working for someone else. Remember, if you work at home then you are self employed most of the time. This means you are an independent contractor. It is like running your own business. Do not hold all of your eggs in one basket so to speak. I have several back up plans working at home. Even if it's something cheesy like doing a phone psychic job a few times a week to help pay the bills. I did have to spend money in order to make money though. This is investments I eventually made on my own. I run some of my own websites and it took a year or two until the affiliate programs really started to bring in some income. It takes a lot of hard work to work for yourself, but if you find the right company it can help bring extra money in. I think there is a big difference between dishing out money for my own business like websites versus these companies that want a ton of money to work for them. That just screams scam to me. If you Googgle those companies asking about fraud, then I'm sure you'll find it. Oh, and this is not spam either. Work at home moms is a great site if you're looking for a job working at home. They have a forum and everything. www.wahm.com Be careful though, the scam artists to list there too, but if you read the forum you'll find out what is legit. |

Thankyou for your work at home advise . I was laid off after 10 years; now employed but my income has been cut in half. One good thing that came out of this sitution is that I am forced to trying new things.most of us were brought up thinking that the only way to survive was to have an ant like mentality.Thinking out of the box was discouraged. |
