Hello,

I am trying to perform an advanced job search to AVOID jobs from a specific company via www.indeed.com/advanced_search however, I can only seem to search for jobs FROM a company. Q: how do I exclude a company e.g. Foo? I don't want to work for Foo :)

Using advanced search, I have tried listing the following search strings in the "From this company" field: -Foo, - Foo, and NOT Foo, but it doesn't work.

I don't see any Exclude options :(

Any clues appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

Hello Jeffmit,

There is another easy way to prevent specific companies from showing up in your search results:

First, log into your my.indeed account where you'll be able to save preferences about your job search. Once you've performed a job search, click on the "block" link at the bottom of the job listing from the company you want to exclude. This will open up options to block search results from the company, website or location of the listing. Simply click on the company block option and it will be excluded from all your future searches.

You can manage your blocked options by clicking on the "preferences" link located beneath the Find Jobs button.

I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to ask more questions.

Best of luck with your job search!

I have done this using this subtract sign... Here's an example from my own search:

marketing manager -meriam -"endeavor marketing"

I didn't want to see jobs from meriam or endeavor marketing, since I knew they were scams.
