Here we are in this wild economy. I got excited to receive Indeed job alerts. However, trying to access the real hiring authority and get past the gate keepers is very daunting and debilitating. Not to mention hugely time consuming. So... does anyone know of a way to automate responses to posted jobs? It would be wonderful if there were a way, or an ATS, or other software which could crawl the alerts; Look into the company site and find specific titled people - like "CFO" or "Chief Actuary" ; and then reach out and send a particular letter to a specific titled person in that company! Oh what more ground we could cover! Does anyone know of such a tool? Or, could one of you bright , creative softward gurus please develop such a tool? Please!

I'm no "softward guru" but you might try Linkedin and network your way into the company. I'm not sure of any software which would do what you want. You would want to be picky with which company and opportunity to submit your resume. With that being said, a rifle shot vs shot gun approach to your search would dictate more time spent on a few specific positions than an automated approach.

After the fact I'm not sure how to edit your post. However, a trick I try to use and it helps most of the time (every once in a while a comment slips past) is to open a Word document window at the same time, compose your text in Word, use Word's spell checker, and then copy and paste your question or response from Word into the forum.

Another Trick: If you use your right hand for the mouse, you can use your left hand’s thumb and 1st finger to select all your text in Word (Ctrl A), copy the text (Ctrl C), switch between applications (Alt – Tab), use the mouse to place your curser in the forum box, and then paste your text (Ctrl V). Using both hands you can work pretty fast.
