I have an interview today for a BOA position with Edward Jones. I was told I would have to take a math and written exam. Does anyone have information on this?

I am going through the hiring process also. The math and spelling parts aren't too bad on the test. The reading comprehension parts and the behavioral type questions were a little daunting. Good luck to you!

Could you expand a bit on the workplace skills test you took? Is it basic math? Able to use calculator? Is it multiple questions, etc.? Just trying to get a feel as to what the test is like. I appreciate any input.

I have an interview on Thursday, and was wondering if you have taken the test? What was it like. Thanks.

I was allowed to bring a calculator. Basic math, need to be able to add fractions, time (hours, min. sec.), spelling, and a couple of word problems - not difficult though, and vocabulary. Good Luck!

Thanks. That's all I would need- to be disqualified because of a 6th grade math test!

Hey there,
You will do fine on the test- just basic knowledge stuff. After the test you may be called by recruiter, cmplt a 14 pge app for then, phone interview w/ recuiter, interview with FA, pass background, and given hire date, get fingerprinted- which you take to the office on your first day. Good Luck
The Edward Jones company is sort of like franchises. Each Financial Advisor in essence is a small business owner and even though you will work for Edward Jones - and the FA is suppose to follow their guidelines, you could be put in positions that challenge your fortitude as a person. So be careful, look them up at your local BBB. I worked at Ed Jones for about a month. My opportunity soon turned to umemployment due to the Fianancial Advisor I was hired for. I am just saying do your homework for the FA you may work for. The opps look great but this man wanted me to tell lies to his boss, did not respond to client request, disregared request, failed audits and maliciously disregarded compliance standards for his own reasons, would not wire funds to clients when requested. He asked me to proctor a AAMS test for him, had me sign off on the proctor guidelines and rules and on the day of the test would not allow me in his office while he took the test, which is a requirement for the proctor.
I know all Ed Jones FA's are not like this one, unfortunately I never met anyone else from Edward Jones. However, I did report the things I was required to report, advised the Home Office and spoke with about 6 people in the Compliance, Harrasement and Audit divisions of the company without one response. When I started feeling truly unsafe alone in the off with this FA I had to choose hunger over a livelihood.
I would love to have stayed with this company but I think I should have been more selective about who my employer was. I have worked for huge financial companies and never have been faced with a morale or ethical delima of this nature.

Unethical issues must also work for aTransportation Supervisor or a school system I was driving for. Quit politely once and them asked them to hire me back year and a half later. Things never changed, when told school policy superseeds ORC and AOC she can say whatever she wants and hopes you fall into the trap. My mistake was not asking for it in writing. Was told to relinquish my keys and everything would stay in confidence. Husbands advice was to keep quiet. And I had no idea what they were speaking of as I was never told I had done anything specifically wron except that I did not follow proper procedure. I told the Superintendent that I would be happy to sit down with him and go over all of my notes and reports. These drivers told me to note everything. Guess they never thought I would. Never heard a word. Wish I had gone to the Union President as that little voice was telling me to. No, I was not a Union member nor full time. After 2 years of continual driving. Now I am having a hard time finding a job.
No one would ever answer my questions or concerns in public or a group setting.
Sad thing is I think it would really cause a stir in that department for a select number of them to be proven of baiting busses and misleading a sub driver. Unfortunately my kids are very good students and great athletes, hate to ruin their future. They are happy I'm not complaining around the table anymore as to whats going on and watching others just ignore it. Just contemplating what my rights are if I have any.
