Over the past month and especially starting the week of Thanksgiving it is slow. Not seeing jobs to apply to and nobody is even calling me in for interviews. Did employers just write 2011 off already? If it is dead now, it will not improve till after the New Year when new budgets are in place. Guess the December unemployment will not go down to 8.2%. |

It historically and traditionally is slow at this time of year, but you should continue to look anyway, even though the job sites seem to be barren lately. I had a spate of interviews 3-4 months ago but have only had one in the last three months, but my field is reeling big time and many of the jobs have gone away and don't seem to be coming back. |

Seems like employers are putting hiring and interviews on the back burner for the rest of the year. We keep looking...at the same jobs till then. |

I haven't even seen that many jobs online to apply to since early Nov. I'm guessing there won't be much until after January, which tends to be a slow month. Two years ago at this time I did get hired right before Christmas and started right after New Year's. You just never know. For now, I'll just hang on tight to my part time job. It's all I've got for now. |

Since June 2008... I have applied, and submitted resume, for 1,827 positions... Interviewed twice... Still Unemployed despite 30+ years of IT Experience. (even for entry-level) |

Interviews? What is that? Seems like it was soo long ago. The ones that I did go on never call you back, so maybe it is better to not go on them vs going on them, wasting gas only to never hear from them again, as if you don't even exist. |

(even for entry-level) 1,827 applications? You win! Oh wait, IT? You aren't even in the Top 10. Just another reason to avoid IT. |

I scored one for this week. This one will be the third in the last two months. It's the fourth if I count the brutal second interview just days before Christmas. 3 |

(even for entry-level) Wasn't Obama telling some woman that her unemployed husband should be able to just walk in and get another job in IT just like that? Someone was telling me this story anyway. I would have wanted to punch the guy for saying that. Time to wake up, Mr. President. I have a feeling all of our politicians have no clue how bad it really is out there. They just don't care as long as they have a job. |

I heard something about an engineer. He wants to get more H-1 visa for Engineers as we don't have enough. Or is it that he wants votes? |

At one unemployment seminar, the guy said, "All these problems with the job market were happening, back when you HAD that good job. Just because you are unemployed, why should anything change?" Then, he went on with interview techniques. |
