Called for interview without reapplying to reposted job

So, a month ago I applied for a job. A week later they asked me for a writing sample, but later emailed me to say that they had decided to continue the interview process with a different candidate. I noticed that they later reposted it, but didn't reapply for the position.

Then, just as the reposted listing was about to run out, they emailed me and asked me if I was still interested. And asked me to resubmit my application for the new job posting. I had an in person interview three days after that.

What do you think my chances are? Does this mean they didn't get enough applications for the reposting?

Try again. When I got this job, I wasn't their first choice. However, I was the low bidder. Heh!
