Employer Running Yet Another Job Ad |

I had an interview and then a second interview last year at an office. I actually had an interview with that same office a couple years ago, so that's three interviews altogether. They apparently don't keep records of whom they interview. I've just seen this office re-post yet another ad for the same job. This is at least the third or maybe fourth time I've seen them posting an ad for this job. Maybe they're having trouble getting the right person in the job? Or maybe the person for whom this person works is intolerable? In the second interview I had with the woman with whom I would have been working directly, she said I "wouldn't be making widgets" as she apparently thought I had at my previous job and she also threw my writing samples without ever looking at them to indicate how she feels about spelling and grammatical mistakes. Oh, and this office never, ever gave me notice back after the second interview. Shocking, huh? So, do you think I should send a resume yet again? I don't think I can put myself through it again. |

When you see an ad running over and over again, this is usually a bad sign. I would pass on this as this might be The Job From Hell. |

I kind of agree, but I need a job. There is a chance that it wouldn't be working with the woman with whom I had that second interview last year. It's a bit humiliating to me to grovel and put myself out there again with them, but I met three other people there who may have liked me. I'm thinking I may try it just to see what happens. I've had so much humiliation in this job hunt that another letter probably won't hurt me. Of course, my expectations will be on the deck. |

Sometimes sniveling and groveling are all you have left. Just understand that there has to be reason why you see this ad running over and over and it probably isn't good. |

I totally understand there's a reason it's been run time and again, but I need a job. I've already submitted to it, dropping the names of everyone I met in my first and second interview last year. It can't hurt. I got a second interview for some reason. My expectations are zero. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I'd just rather not go in and be humiliated like I was in that second interview last year. That eats on one's nerves. |

I've already sniveled and responded via email with a cover letter and resume. I think if I were to have to interview with the beast who threw documents in the second interview with them that I'd turn it down though. Who throws things in an interview? Goodness. |

I've put out 40 new applications since Jan 1, and have yet to get a call from ANY of them. Except one, which was an automated rejection letter that basically said I was out because I wasn't a local to that area. |

It's still early days, Nick. The last interview I got resulted from a resume sent 60 days before I got a call. Still, don't look back. Keep moving forward to the next job for which you can submit yourself. That's all you can do. |

Sick of being jobless in Park Ridge, Illinois 4 months ago |
Have someone call that company and tell them that you noticed the same job opening posted several times, ask them why it has not been filled. These employers are playing games with us, and I am having my friends call them to put them on the spot. I would like to pick their brains out a little. Since they have already interviewed me and many others they will not know who I am anyway. I will be calling for others who have been on interviews for these kind of employers as well. Also next time Office Team or Robert Half calls I will also have some questions to why they keep calling and wanting me to come in and get an update from where I was am what I am looking for in my next job. I am sick of all these recruiters and not job! |

As you know, Park Ridge, stay far, far away from Robert Half. They run a dozen fake ads a day in my sector on this job site alone. It's the same story on the other sites as well. I had a recruiter at another agency last week try to tell me Half was busy. I asked her how she knew. Her answer was that candidates she'd met had told her. If that's the case, then why are candidates in your office? Shouldn't they be busy working via Robert Half? Recruiters. All liars. |

Yeah, recruiters... We have PSG here, and it's mostly run by a bunch of wet behind the ears fresh out of college types. Makes me want to do my best Sean Connery, and be like "how many years of relevant experience do YOU have?" |

They don't have any related work history. They just get some young person who doesn't know much about the working world yet, and by the time they learn, they are already out the door and trying some other way to make a living. Waiting tables would be a great thing too...gee and you have a 4 year degree for that?? |

I've met and signed up with three recruiters over the last two months because I'm getting desperate and you just never know. Here's what happened: Recruiter 1 - I was referred to her by someone who interviewed me for a perm job. I told her that interviewer's name and that I interviewed there, thinking it might help me out. Within one week, the recruiter had an ad up for that job despite the interviewer telling me she wouldn't use a recruiter when I told her they'd be on her like leeches if I dropped her name. Recruiter 2 - This guy scheduled an interview, and then when I showed up he acted like he never scheduled it. He also didn't have a copy of my resume because their "system was down." What a joke. Unprofessional but acted like he had power. Seriously? Recruiter 3 - This one has nothing, just like the other recruiters. But she had the gall to tell me that Half and another agency are "busy." I asked her how she knew. The answer was because "other candidates had told her." If these candidates are so "busy" through Half, then why are they communicating with her? Such BS. Typical recruiter nonsense. |

A couple of months ago, I applied to a job posted on a recruiters site for an "unnamed" company.
Then, the next day, I get a call from the recruiter telling me that because I had applied directly to their clients career portal six months earlier, that the client was going to handle my application and there wouldn't be any finders-fee if I were chosen. I had to laugh.. because I thought; finally somebody is sticking it to an agency.

Score one for recruiter haters. I liked that someone wasted their time instead of them wasting everyone else's time for once. |
