DO NOT SIGN UP to have an interview with the screen name patriciawilson180@yahoo.com. This is a hoax and it is not real. The position is with Patient Media Conversation as an Administrative Position/ Receptionist. It maybe taken down already. The company changed from a U.S company to India (USV Limited) when I started the "interview".

It is still up it is all over. I didn't do it because it seemed fishy to me. Don't do it. I received the email from Joseph Boyd who told me to set up a yahoo messenger name and add Patriciawilson180@yahoo.com then told me to sit on line from 8am - 3pm and she would interview sometime in that period.

I also would warn job seekers to beware of yahoo messenger interviews. The first I received the "manager" that was interviewing me had so many misspelled words and was so unprofessional I thought this has to be a scam and I ended the session and told them I wasn't interested. That made me do my research and I found that many scams conducted through yahoo messenger and to look for things like no phone number or contact information, misspelled words. So today I received another e-mail saying that they thought I would be a perfect fit for a job and I thought back to my research. No contact information whatsoever, just the instant messenger address. Then I did a google search on the company name, doesn't exist. This is really sad that there are so many people honestly trying to find work and come up against people to want to scam you and waste your time.

Pass on the IM interview and be really leary of the Starbucks interview. Common on Craigslist and like you said, a waste of time.

Please be careful I normally am and very skeptical about most everything. But I decided to see what the email I got was about. I did instant message. As instructed to Susandesk02@yahoo .while waiting for a instant message back I searched the skeptic email job interview offer. This is one of other complaints I came across. Meanwhile this Susan persons responds back by instant messages asking my personal info where I live and where I'm from my gender and more. My reply ...I'm reporting them to the police and the phone was being traced ....interesting because they did ignored my text and responded with am I ok ..lol funny as they certainly mis spell and lack English grammar.
Beware .... This is sad and ridiculous in the times we live in today.please pass the word on and thanks for those of you who shared this earlier.

--

Thank God I found this board, I'm currently in my "interview" with someone from Swiss Life Group named Antoinette Glover. I wish I came across this board last night! I haven't given her any pertinent information to where she could access any of my accounts, but just from our conversation I got a weird feeling. I applied for a Human Resources position, located in Philadelphia, and she was giving me data entry, admin assistant, or customer service positions available, from home (nothing that I applied for). Also, in the posting, it said the company was Conair, so I researched it to be the beauty product company. Never again. No one asks your age in an interview, isn't that illegal?

Pressed her about her connection to the company, her contact info which she never gave and said we will be in contact through yahoo IM, inquired about the person who emailed me – said that was her personal assistant stating “As you know a man needs a hand...lol”(WTF)! Just received an email from "Kim Don" for an HR assistant position. She asked me to do the same things -- set up a yahoo account and add Sir Elvin Segarra onto my friends list. Did so, was very direct, kept asking if my name and sex...weird! I noticed that he had a "Swiss Life" logo next to his screen name so I googled them as well, they have no jobs in the US. Long story short-- total hoax! don't fall for it!

OMG! I just went through quite a bit of the interview process, the only information the person got from me before I found this informative blog, was my Full Name Sex location and past Place of work...I didnt tell her my real bank (MARRY JANE, 68, Cleveland OH). I hope i didnt tell her too much information, I definitely didnt tell her my account number or any personal information. However this issss a scam because as soon as I told her to void me and i was no longer interested she signed out. Im happy I didnt get too fooled, However I hope my Full name, sex, Location and previous position didn't give her any information needed for identity theft.

I just got an email asking me to set Up a Screen name with the yahoo Instant Messenger online at www.messenger.yahoo.com/ and add up the Head of Operation screen name: elisawilson811@yahoo.com to your buddy list. This looked suspicious, so I Googled "yahoo messenger scams" and got to this page. Saved me a lot of time dealing with this person, and the possibility of identity theft.

Just experienced a scam using yahoo messenger....the email was sent from Mary Clackum.....asking me to log into yahoo messenger and add lavena_askew. The job was for a Insurance Verification Specialist. A few things raised an eyebrow for me the time the email was sent and also the boldness about the pay rate and scheduled hours. It was almost a dream come true. Well I signed into yahoo messenger still skeptical and was given the name of the company Aspire which I immediately looked up and the exist but it was located in California and represented something totally different that the job was requiring. She then told me she was gonna provide me with details about the company and don't ask questions until the end but immediately asked for my full name., address., sex and age. That's when I told her no thanks I'm not interested and she signed off and must have also deleted her profile because I tried to block her and yahoo couldn't find the name but anyway thanks to this blog it really saved me from making a big mistake so I also wanted to share my story in hopes if helping someone else.

Despite this email being obviously fake with its $40 per hour work-at-home "Office Ass" interview over Yahoo! Messenger that only requires a high school diploma, I researched the company and found that TheStreet is an actual legitimate organization. It's even run by Jim Cramer just like the email said, and Ronni Diamant is actually the vice president. I find this disturbing because these scammers were using an actual company with real names and real websites that skeptics might still fall for because I couldn't find anything online about that company performing job scams. They're getting better. Beware.

I posted my resume on Craigslist and received an email from a lady who claimed that my resume was approved by the HR department and they are setting an on-line interview with the hiring manager, Dr. Ajay Bakshi via yahoo messenger. The email of the interviewer is interviewdesk18@yahoo.com

The company's name and the Doctor's name are all valid. There is a Max Healthcare in india and the doctor is a director of Max Healthcare.

I went on with the online interview and gave them my full name, address, cell phone number and my banks's name.

Now i have reported this as spam on yahoo messenger and craigslist too.

This hoax just happened to me. The person said her name is Chloe Bagwell and that she works for the HR Dept. of Cisneros and she even gave me the company website of cisneros.com. I connected with her through the yahoo messenger too. I actually became suspicious because she said she had my resume, however she was asking me basic information that is on my resume. So, google being the best place to search for everything it gave me this hoax page and as I read everyone's replies I realized I was being duped. I hope that everyone else has the light bulb turn on and that they too do some research before continuing with these fake interviews.

I got this exact same email yesterday. I almost got duped. I went through the entire interview through Yahoo, and was all for it, until he asked me to post an ad to craigslist where I would pay 25 dollars to post the ad for the exact same job I was applying for. That threw up major red flags to me and so I started researching. Glad my internal "Uh oh" system works!

This just happened to me. But luckily my spider senses kicked in. I received a text(yes a text) from this no. 6 one three-4l7-five525,identifying herself as Mrs. Gi0vanna Martinez the HR manager for AAC Technologies Holdings Inc.

I've been looking for a job for 3 weeks and I was super excited during the first two messages. Then the third text message and I thought to myself well if she knows I'm available why has she not called rather than settling for text message. I noticed grammatical errors like "your resume have been selected" and "you have being selected for an on-line interview with me now"..so then I'm still hype so I ask "What would you need for me to do in order to move forward?" Then she says the interview will be conducted on-line via yahoo instant messenger, and asks if I have a yahoo email address....

I'm thinking, (its on my resume duh. I provide it but now I'm def. like hold up...I don't recall the name of this company she gave me, but mind you, I have applied to possibly 15 different jobs. So I told her I didn't remember the name of the company and could she refresh my memory and she repeated but did not indicate the position I applied or anything more. She then instructs me on how to set up yahoo messenger on my pc and add her to my buddy list (employergiovanna@yahoo.com).

This wasn't going to cut it so I texted:

Is there any way that we can reschedule because I am not home and my cell phone is dying?

Her: Are you able to report to me 8:am your time tomorrow morning for your job briefing and interview? (by this time I had gotten home and in my head I'm like 8 o'clock in morning? Shxt no!)

Me: No, unfortunately I have duty this weekend. Perhaps we can schedule a traditional interview and we can meet on site some time next week. I want to apologize before hand because my phone will die any second now.

Never heard back from her.

I asked if this was a scam and he told me that he was 68yrs old, God fearing and would rather spend time with his grandkids, etc. He said that he would never scam people and hated the word "scam." I was told that a check would also be overnighted for the software and I would need to deposit via ATM. Hmmm, why ATM?? I copied & pasted all these conversations to Sir Segarra and haven't gotten a reply back as of yet. I feel so dumb and gullible. Has anyone out there gone thru the complete process and received a laptop or the software check? Holla back please. I'm now afraid to do anything regarding job searches online. I'm going to remove my resumes from all the sites and will have to lessen my chances of being discovered by potential employers... This is a sad world we live in! (smh)
. I played along with this jerk like I had gotten the check. I took the fake check to PNC bank where they confiscated it and took all my personal info. I IM'ed Sir Jerk back letting him know that I had received the money and I needed to know what the next step was. He told me to send the cash to Devon Williams in Chicago and to contact him with the Western Union confirmation number. I made him wait about a week and he contacted me both IM and text all day long (ha) I finally told him that I was aware of his scam and that I had contacted the authorities and he responded " You fools!!, you people are so dumb and that I would never find him."

Its actually an old one but if you haven't been unemployed recently, you may not have run across it. The Yahoo Messenger gimmick is a dead giveaway: SCAM.

My conversation with someone recruiting for USV India. Well pretending to be a rep for USV India. I believe USV India is a company, but not the one offering jobs over Instant Messenger! I also sent an email to this company, so they can do something before it ruins their reputation.

Some of the conversation;
Me: So this is health care, but a pool service is a subsidiary?
10:56:06 AM
melissa_blake96: Yes the Company also sponsor a Service to generate funds
10:56:31 AM
melissa_blake96: While all this Questions
10:56:58 AM
melissa_blake96: when are you going to Walmart
10:57:08 AM
Me: Am i not allowed to ask them, i just am covering myself
10:57:30 AM
melissa_blake96: No Problem
10:57:37 AM
Me: I found a phone number associated with this business, i am giving them a call

This is when they signed out, but obviously this is a scam. Please pay attention to everything. They will lie and cheat whenever they can!

I just ended my "online interview" telling mr. Andrew scout that I believed this was a scam and he should be ashamed of taking advantage of hard working people trying to make an honest living..... He signed out immoderately! The company I applied for was customer service/ data entry for a company called clean energy! What a scam! Never again! Of course I got the Swiss life work from home song and dance!

If you don't have a yahoo messenger on your computer,Then go to www.messenger.yahoo.com to download one for free then Set up an ID with yahoo messenger and IM Mrs Anna Kenneth. Her yahoo ID screen name is,(pvtworkdesk@yahoo.com).She's online now,Instant-message her whenever you are ready

online briefing and interview hours is between the hours of 9 am-5 pm Monday through Friday.Feel free to email me back if you have questions.

Human Resources

the amount of errors in her spelling were crazy, then after copy and pasting all of this info about her company ROBOSOFT TECH(an actual company that does exists), I tried asking her what the job was and she said I will know when the interview was over, that was a huge redflag, after about another 10 minutes she asked me to tell her about myself I kept it short only giving general info, she then asked me a couple questions about privacy and code of conduct. long story short she says she's going to forward my answers to her manager to see if I got the job, five minutes later she's writing back saying I got the job and I will be contacting on my start date. she then informs me I will be sent a check via fed ex to purchase office supplies, I kindly told her I was not interested in the position and she signed off.

Buyer Beware in Pasadena, California

I received 3 texts. The first two: Hello. Is this (my actual name with middle initial). The 3rd was advising me I was "being" chosen (not "been chosen" as would be grammatically correct). I also received an email with similar instructions to set up a Yahoo messenger account. In this instance, the names: Debra Smith, Christine Z McCauley, and Edwards Lifesciences Pvt Ltd. That is a real company and McCauley is the Corporate VP for HR. However, there were too many typos and the same scenario - Yahoo messenger interview. This company is all over the world and they want to do a messenger interview? No. Also, the phone # from the texts is eight oh five two nine eight seven five oh four. Eight oh five is a real area code in California (Moor Park, Ventura County). And yes, I used "oh" instead of zero on purpose.

In California, at least, it is against the law to ask ANY question that can identify your age - send picture with resume, what year did you graduate high school, etc. When answering Craigslist ads, remove your personal information except for email address. If they are legit, they will email you and ask you to contact them via phone. I did send my resume to hrdesk14@yahoo.com from Craigslist for an Administrative Assistant position, but unfortunately, I didn't know then not to include my address or phone number. So, now I only put my name (no middle initial), city and state, and email address. I agree with others who have said it's so sad that here we are desperate for work and now we have to worry about getting scammed. The times we live in! Best of luck everyone in getting an honest job!

I received an email at 6am today about a yahoo interview from a Matthew Sumapung. The email had no information about the company and many grammar errors. The email seemed very urgent and insisted that I start a yahoo account and add shaylabush1717@yahoo.com. I was skeptical, because I hadn't applied for the position they were offering and I've also never had anyone interview me in an IM session. I deleted the email, thinking that it was probably someone trying to get a hold of my personal information. Afterward, I realized that my resume had been viewed by the same 'person' or 'company' that had emailed me. I took it down, seeing as how I didn't want it up there in the first place, but the minute I applied for a job it was autosaved.

Job searching can be very tedious and stressful for some people, taking advantage of applicants and wasting their time with scams to try and leech information from them is disgusting.

Just had my resume' updated and posted to employment sites over the last 2 days. Today I get a "text" from a 202 area code claiming to be Craig Arrow from Westfield Group Ltd (Shopping center group) expressing interest in hiring me. After a few text messages he asks if I have a Yahoo email address. I inform him that I do not and he send me a link to a yahoo messenger set up and wants me to look up the "company hiring officer" Zack Whitford for an "online interview/briefing exercise". In the meantime I am Googling, searching on FB, & LinkedIn, and cannot find any Craig Arrow or Zack Whitfield anywhere.

I tell him that I will get to it and he says, do it now and get back with me. Really? Are there really people that fall for this. I know we are in a texting and e-mail world but contacting you about a management positions via a text at 8pm EST? I told him, "I will get right on that" and responds with "ok good". He will be waiting for a VERY long time.

Be smart people, CREDIBLE companies will not be reaching out to you via text about employment.

BEWARE!

The Yahoo Messenger scam is an old one. They get their victims off of posted resumes and what they look for are newly posted resumes.

The figure you are less likely to be aware of the trick.
