I looked around but found no way to post a resume in PDF format. So much time goes in to formatting the content in a resume to be efficiently presented and easy on the eyes to read (fonts, layouts, etc) and then its all torn apart and remashed by indeed's terrible conversion algorithm. Why is the world does indeed.com force people to use their terrible, awful file converter when you upload your resume? |

Does any site upload a resume in the proper format? If so, I'm not aware of it. I had my resume posted on CB and got nothing but spam email and telemarketing calls. So I won't do that again. I hope the same doesn't happen to you. It's worth a shot. Good luck. |

Hi Mitia, We apologize for converting your PDF resume poorly. We are aware that the conversion process for PDF documents needs improvement. Please try uploading a Word document which may yield better results. We do intentionally convert resumes to a uniform format to allow employers to review resumes quickly and easily, which in turn, benefits job seekers. Parafreegal, Indeed takes spam very seriously. Your contact details (ex. email, phone, address) are not revealed to anyone unless you choose to share them. We take measures to ensure that spammers are not able to contact job seekers on Indeed. Thank you both for your feedback and feel free to contact us through our support team with any additional comments or questions: Best,

Monster.com

Uploading in word does not help, you are missing the point. It's not about content, it is how the content is presented. You can spend years programming your converter to include every possible font, table formation, divider and on and on and on... OR, you can just let people use an already developed word processor to do that, convert to PDF and upload as is; at least IN ADDITION to your "not so easy on the eyes wall of text" forms. If you want to boil down peoples resumes to key words for lazy HR departments to scan/search with their software it doesn't mean you have to ELIMINATE the nicely formatted PDF that can be printed out by an employer to read over prior to the interview as many do to formulate questions. |

Mitia in Sunnyvale, California said: Monster.com There is no uniformity between one site and another. Where I work, they don't even accept resumes of any kind anymore. Its an online applicaton, which puts things into THEIR format. You either fill the thing out, which takes hours or you back out. |
