Hello

I worked in private Managing partnered ( 4 partners ) IT firm called "Company A" for 2years 7 Months. Then because of some Internal problems among managing partners, all the resources within the company was splitted and a new "company B" was formed by one of the partner. He has been my Boss since the beginning and i went with him to the new "company B". Now i am planning to move out of this new "company B" after working there for 7 months. So what should i be writing in the Resumes? That i worked in "Company A" for 2.7 Years and in "Company B" for 7 Months? Ideally i should be writing 3.4 years in the same company because it was not fault of ours that the company got splitted and the resources got shared between one of the partner and the remaining three.

i) So how to include experience in the Resume?

ii) Does this have any impact on me getting a new job? or expected Salary?

iii) Does the prospective new employer think that i cannot be trusted to be a long term employee?

Regards
Sreejith

Is it the same position?

The easier way to handle it is to list as company B, then put something like "Formerly part of Company A". Details of the split beyond that don't belong on your resume. They might be required in an application (although if an application is required talk to the HR contact to confirm how they want it handled, as sometimes they're OK with grouping something like that, and sometimes they are very strict about being 100% precise).

It is should be mentioned in an interview.
