Hello!

My background is in academic advising. I left my job in April 2010 to be a stay at home mom. I plan on staying home until around January 2013. At that point I'm not certain if I'd be looking for full-time or part-time work.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to stay involved in the field in the meantime so that it isn't as much of a struggle to get back into it when the time comes?

Thanks,
Sara

Look for part-time positions at colleges and universities. Many departments are understanding why you will want to spend more time with your children. You may be lucky to get a part-time academic advising position that pays benefits too.
