Hi Guys, I am a tax accountant with about 5 years experience in Individual Tax specializing in ultra high net worth clients (hedge fund, private equity partners etc)
I hear a lot on this forum about people jumping ship from big cpa firms to hedge funds. But these are usually people that do the corporate/partnership tax work for the hedge funds at big 4's etc.
What about someone like me that does the individual work (the owners/partners of hedge funds individual tax planning/trusts etc)? Are there family office tax type departments within hedge funds that would hire me ? Or is that more for someone that does the actual corporate work for the hedge fund?
And in terms of career moves would my best route be to stay at a cpa firm and work my way up in this field? Or maybe even open my own tax firm?
Thanks for any advice!
