How did you get your start doing accounting specialist work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

I began working in June 1964 with the watch industry in the office doing bookkeeping and eventually payroll. Also processed all types of import and export documents for shipping and receiving of foreign merchandise for 8 1/2 years. Then I moved to the Dairy Industry where I was hired as bookkeeper moving up to comptroller and office manager dealing with accounting, importation, payrolls and profit planning for 19 1/2 years. Then I moved to the Government as comptorller and worked and managed the accounting office for 16 years before retiring. During my 44 years of employment I worked with bookkeeping, accounting, shipping, receiving, payables, receivables, bank reconsiliations, audits, computers, microsoft word, works, excell, lotus 123, use of typewriters, calculators, faxes, copiers, telex machines and various other office machines. Dealt with Federal Programs such as Home Program, Hope-3, CDBG and associated reports and drawing of funds. Basically I am well versed in most office proceedures and willing and ready to work immediately.
