I have been laid off for 11 months today. I worked in accounts payable for 9 years. Have not used e-xcel at all wasn't needed to match and enter invoices, just had to be very accurate. I also worked as the receptionist for 5 years thinking about going back to it because I can't get in the door at accounting jobs. Any suggestions |

You have to learn Excel. Its' used for everything. You will be more marketable if you know Excel. |

Jfell: Do you have any other accounting software skills such as Quickbooks? You might want to look into learning other accounting software skills as well. Good luck to you. |

One stop has free excel classes. I am going to take a brusher up class. I have been laid off for 20 month's. I know it is very frustrating, but I just keep on tring and never give up!!!! I have been in Accounts payable for over 25 years. My last job I was there for 23 years. |

I have been out of work for 2 years now, worked in accounts payable for 12 years, receptionist for a few years and customer service for 20+ years. I have no expereince in excel or word. I have signed up for classes and I hope that helps. One thing I know is something will come through thats what keeps me going. It's been and is rough. Keep your chin up |
