accounting job for new grad.

I will be graduating this dec from degaldo in accounting. I am looking for a job out in St. martinville or any near by city once I am finished in school. I bought some land in St. Martinville after hurricane Katrina and had a home built while finishing up my schooling here at delgado. Now that I at the end I have been trying to start the job search process so once I graduate I will be able to move on to my new location. The only thing that scares me is that I have no experience in the accounting field and all the jobs I see are asking for some kind of work expericnce. I am coming from the medical field where I have earned 26 + years of work experience, but what does it do for me in my career of accounting. Will someone whom have traveled down this road please help me.
