Twenty Five years ago you usually started in "billing" and you worked your way up from the very bottom. I had great mentors to help me along the way and an open credit analyst position popped up eventually and I got my start in the world of Credit, Collections and A/R. There are many aspects to learn and master, it takes time. Cash application is my favorite job, it's tricky and has to be done exactly right...I was good at it! You will need accounting courses now to get your foot in the door and some Dunn & Bradstreet and Financial Statement training so I would start with a Jr. College or Career College and go from there. It is a very rewarding job if you are the right fit. Good Luck!
