Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing? Where are the jobs? Which places have the most administrator opportunities? |

Administrator jobs are doing both. First and foremost, the days of becoming an administrator without a degree are on their way to being completely eliminated. Therefore, the job market is poor for those individuals, even with experience, to obtain a job as an administrator without a base of a Bachelor. Also, the targeting of stability with these types of administrators is becoming more common and therefore turnaround is becoming very unlikely - especially with smaller corporations (more than two nursing homes). Mom-and-Pop nursing homes are nearly scarce anymore. So, in response to the question regarding growth, I would say they are not growing, although they are available. As for where there are the most opportunities, the obvious answer will always be the smaller communities and rural areas. Larger communities have a much larger competitive pool of applicants. Smaller communities and rural areas, which pay typically the same in dollars (and even more in many cases), have more availability and opportunity for administrators. |
