How did you get your start doing advertising sales representative work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

If you are energetic and they feel you have the potential to convince people to buy from you, then that is sometimes enough.

But in a tough market be prepared to face stiffer competition with people having experience either in sales or advertising.

If you dont have experience then use other activities on your resume such as competitive sports or groups that you joined. This can help as my VP commented on a new hires resume because of this and it won them the position.

The most important thing is to sell yourself. You might have to present to a group, so I hope you are not shy ;]
