You should start out as a leasing agent first to learn the ropes, you cant just sump in a manager position if you have never done it, believe me, i am an apartment manager and its no easy task.You have to have never ending pateince, be kind but frim with tenants,make your owners happy, keep your property nice, deal with crisis at any time, not to mention the LEGAL DOCUMENTS that must be correct. You must have an eye for detail. Its a rewarding job because you get to help people find their homes but you have to be very careful how you conduct yourself, i have never been personally sued but I have worked with or for managers who have and in some cases YOU personally get sued, not just the company you work for. 275 |
