How did you get your start doing armed security officer work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position? Do you need a particular educational background? |

Oregon Security Training in Portland, Oregon 38 months ago |
Getting started. 1.) Check state and local Laws/Reg. Many states require training and or license(s) 2.) Search localy first to get training and experience even if it is not required you should look for trade schools or local course work. 3.) Base pay typicly is just above min. wage, but will noemaly go up with training and experience 4.) Armed Security usualy pays more than Un-Armed again check local/state laws. 5.) A GED is typicly the base required education. You MUST be able to read and write english fluently. To advance you will want an AS Degree in Law Enforcemet. The more formal education you have the higher you will progress in the Security Industry! 6.) If you are willing to travel once you have a year or more of experience better paying jobs open up. 7.) Security work is usualy available all across the country (and world wide). Unfortunately most states will not accept out of state licenses but there are exceptions 8.) Talk to some Security Officers in your area and ask about getting started 9.) Age requirements differ from state to state. Typicly Un-Armed Security Officers start at 18 , and Armed Security Officers at 21 10.) Please contact me with any questions if you like and remember... "Be Safe Out There!" |
