Hi all,

i've majored in graphic design and have experience in working in a ad production company for a year. Recently i've started working in the family business (no relation with design) but I want to get back to advertising.

If I'm looking to get in to an ad agency, say as an art director, or junior art director..not sure how low the list goes..) what are my chances and what kinda portfolio would i need?

I'd say set your expectations a bit lower, as Art Directors, even Jr. level have to have more experience than just one year. Its typically 3-5 years.

Portfolio depends on the type of agency, but you'll need to show strong concepts and show what exactly your role on each project was. If you're leading a team, you'll have more going for you if you want to become an art director.

Until then, look for design positions.
